Spruson & Ferguson in Singapore is seeking a qualified Patent Scientist (Chem) to join our growing IP practice. You will partner with client organisations to protect innovations and grow your patent expertise across jurisdictions.

The role focuses on handling all aspects of the patent prosecution process, liaising with inventors and corporate clients, and drafting, filing, and prosecuting applications in Singapore and abroad. PhD in Chemistry is required; Singapore PA or GDIPIM is a bonus.

Formación

• PhD in Chemistry or related field is mandatory.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant patent drafting experience.
• GDIPIM, Singapore PA registration or equivalent is a bonus.

We are currently seeking a qualified Patent Scientist (Chem) to join our growing practice in our Singapore office. As a Patent Scientist, you will partner with renowned client organisations to protect their innovations, grow your patent expertise across multiple jurisdictions, and build a long-term career in the Intellectual Property (IP) industry within a market-leading and award-winning (IP) service firm.

What You Will Do:

• Handling all aspects of the patent prosecution process
• Liaising with inventors and corporate clients
• Drafting, filing and prosecution of patent applications in Singapore, Asia and abroad

What You Bring:

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in patents and drafting, with some industry and/or post-grad research experience.
• Minimum PhD in Chemistry or a related field.
• Bonus - GDIPIM, Singapore PA registration or equivalent (e.g. UK, US, European) - part qualified or qualified.
• Good time management and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication skills in English (both written and oral).
• Candidates who are qualified in regions other than Singapore will also be considered.
