Job summary

Hilton Singapore is seeking a Commis Cook (Pastry) to assist in food preparation and pastry tasks under the supervision of senior chefs. You will set up mise en place, ensure HACCP compliance, and maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.

The role requires teamwork, hospitality, and the ability to adapt between Pastry and Bakery as needed. English communication and basic food-safety knowledge are essential for daily operations.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work independently and manage assigned responsibilities in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Basic knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices.
• Basic knowledge of preparing Local, Asian, Western, and international desserts using standard techniques.
• Ability to work collaboratively while maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Follow payroll and uniform procedures.
• Maintain Hilton service standards at action stations with hospitality and a smile.
• Set up mise en place for breakfast, lunch and dinner according to schedule.
• Ensure sanitation standards and kitchen cleanliness (HACCP).
• Operate equipment safely and keep it clean after use.
• Read orders including BEO, takeaway specials, and IRD amenities.
• Prepare and present foods for service to established standards.
• Accommodate server requests and guest preferences.
• Rotate and handle food according to procedures.
• Place requisitions with proper signatures for daily needs.
• Work with standard recipes to maintain quality and presentation.
