Job summary

Hilton Singapore is seeking a Commis Cook to support our kitchen team. You will assist in food preparation under supervision of senior chefs and help set up mise en place for breakfast, lunch or dinner while adhering to Hilton standards and safety guidelines.

In this role you will read orders, plate dishes, maintain cleanliness, respect guest preferences, follow recipes, and work across shifts in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Basic knowledge of food safety, hygiene and sanitation practices.
• Basic knowledge of local, Western and international cuisines and techniques.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist in food preparation and cooking under supervision of senior chefs.
• Set up and complete mise en place for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
• Prepare and plate dishes according to Hilton guidelines and standards.
• Read and understand orders and ensure timely presentation of food.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and equipment.
• Respect guest preferences and accommodate server requests.
• Follow standard recipes to maintain quality and presentation.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any accidents immediately.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
