Qualifikationen

• Prior experience working in a Science laboratory environment, preferably in a primary school setting.
• Basic digital literacy, including the ability to use a computer for administrative tasks such as maintaining records and communicating with teachers.

Aufgaben

• Maintain a safe, clean and tidy laboratory environment at all times, ensuring all apparatus, equipment, materials and specimens are in good working condition and ready for use.
• Promptly report faulty machines and equipment to the relevant supervisor and display an 'Out of Order' sign on affected items until rectified.
• Ensure proper disposal of broken glassware and other breakages in accordance with prevailing safety procedures and regulations.
• Conduct regular inspection of Bunsen burners and high-risk items (e.g. data loggers and microscopes) to ensure they are in good working condition and secure them under lock and key after use.
• Maintain an up-to-date stock book and breakage record and highlight items requiring replacement to the relevant supervisor in a timely manner.
• Check and replenish first aid supplies at regular intervals to ensure adequate stock levels are always maintained.
• Assist Science teachers in the preparation for the conduct of lessons and post-lesson clearing of laboratory equipment/apparatus as and when required.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Science Head of Department (HOD).
