Job summary

IKEA Singapore is seeking a part-time Kitchen Assistant to support daily kitchen operations, keep the area clean and safe, and ensure consistent food safety and customer service standards.

Reporting to the Kitchen Production Manager, you will prepare meal ingredients, maintain hygiene, follow SOPs, manage stock FIFO/FEFO, monitor HACCP records, ASC/MSC procedures, and contribute to store operations with a collaborative team.

• Ability to stand for long hours in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Maintain high level of personal grooming and hygiene.
• Ability to work AM/PM shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing meal ingredients and maintaining a clean, hygienic food preparation area.
• Ensure proper cleaning and sanitising of all food preparation areas according to established hygiene standards.
• Execute and support kitchen operations in compliance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Uphold existing operating procedures and maintain high Quality, Service, and Cleanliness (Q.S.C.) standards to ensure food safety and hygiene.
• Assist with unloading food supplies and checking stock inventory for accuracy.
• Actively practice First-In-First-Out (FIFO) and First Expired, First Out (FEFO) principles to maintain freshness and quality in food preparation.
• Maintain accurate Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) documentation, including best before date records and preparation par-level monitoring for peak and non-peak periods.
• Ensure compliance with Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) and Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) recording procedures to track certified seafood usage daily and ensure ASC/MSC products are not mixed with other seafood on shelving.
• Contribute actively to store operations and ensure alignment with the Functional Commercial Review Standards.
