Job summary

YTC SHIPYARD PTE. LTD. is seeking a Paralegal/Legal Assistant to provide comprehensive legal and administrative support to the contracts team in Singapore.

The role involves drafting, research, document management, and coordination with clients, subcontractors, and internal departments. Qualifications include a Diploma/Degree in law or paralegal studies and at least two years of relevant experience. Strong English, analytical, and MS Office skills are required; full-time on-site work with

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Law/Legal Studies or Degree/Paralegal Studies required.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a paralegal/legal assistant preferred.
  • Entry-level candidates with interest in developing a career in the legal field are welcome.
  • Strong command of written and spoken English.
  • Strong analytical and word processing skills.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; detail-oriented and able to multitask.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Free transportation from Tanah Merah MRT provided.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal and administrative support to our contracts team.
  • Assist in preparation and drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, compiling court papers, bundles, authorities and submissions to support litigation, transactional or compliance matters.
  • Document review and management: organize, paginate, redact, and index documents; manage electronic document databases and physical archives for easy tracking.
  • Communication and coordination with internal and external stakeholders. Liaise with clients, subcontractors, opposing counsel, courts, and internal departments on supporting documents
  • Case and matter management: maintain case files, manage calendars, deadlines, and documents, track discovery, and coordinate with clients, witnesses, and experts.
  • Handle correspondence including responding to emails, letters, with all stakeholders, as and when required.
  • Assist in any other matters/projects as assigned by the Management from time to time.

Requirements
  • Minimum qualification of Diploma in Law / Legal Studies or Degree / Paralegal Studies.
  • At least 2 years’ experience as a paralegal/legal assistant in a law firm or an in-house setting is preferred.
  • Entry-level candidates with a strong interest in developing a career in the legal field are also welcome to apply.
  • Strong command of written and spoken English.
  • Strong analytical and word processing skills.
  • Possesses strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a meticulous attention to detail and a forward-thinking mindset to prioritize tasks, and able to work in a team, independently and multitask, and perform effectively under tight deadlines and manage time-critical, sensitive work in fast-paced environment, and take initiative and is committed to excellence.
  • Demonstrated eagerness to learn and flexibility in adapting to new challenges and changing priorities, and ability to follow direction and procedures.
  • Competent in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Outlook Software applications.
  • Free transportation will be provided from Tanah Merah MRT.
