Job summary

Keppel Seghers Engineering Singapore Pte. Ltd. seeks an experienced Control Room Operator to support desalination plant operations.

The role entails continuous dispatch of treated water, 24-hour shift coverage, and coordination with maintenance and external agencies to ensure plant performance. You will monitor chemical consumption, maintain operation records, and prepare routine reports while adhering to health, safety and environmental regulations.

Qualifications

• ITE or Diploma in Science, Environmental, Chemical Engineering or other engineering-related field.
• Min 2 years’ experience in desalination plant Control Room operation.
• Positive attitude and a good team-player.
• Willing to work on shift and beyond normal hours due to operational needs.
• Willing to work at multiple sites.
• Possession of Forklift License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate the desalination plant in the control room to achieve 100% availability and continuous dispatch.
• Coordinate with site Operation Technicians and Maintenance team for daily activities and outages.
• Monitor and record operations, chemical consumption, and plant performance.
• Prepare operation reports and liaise with PUB WSCC to fulfill requirements.
• Adhere to safety, environmental and housekeeping standards.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Support the Shift Engineer to operate the plant to achieve 100% availability with 24 hrs. continuous dispatch of treated water complying with the WPA and O&M procedure meeting dispatch quantity, quality and energy target. Perform O&M work in strict compliance with safety, environment pollution control and housekeeping. Perform quality monitoring and operational works in the control room, coordinating with Operation Technicians onsite to operate the plant. Report and record any operations abnormalities to the Supervisor and carry out rectification plan promptly to restore both dispatched water quality and quantity Coordinate with Maintenance Team on daily maintenance requirements and activities. Liaise with PUB WSCC to fulfill operational requirements. Prepare and maintain daily and monthly operations records. Monitor daily chemical consumption. Comply with environment, health and safety regulation for all works carry out in the plant Prepare operation report and assist operation managers in plant operation management such as chemicals stock monitoring etc. Accept ad hoc assignment given by managers Accept multi-tasking; willing to take on extra responsibilities to support O&M of the plant

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Possess ITE or Diploma in Science, Environmental, Chemical Engineering or other engineering-related field
• Min 2 years’ experience in desalination plant Control Room operation
• Positive attitude and a good team-player
• Willing to work on shift
• Willing to work beyond normal working hours due to operational needs of the Desalination Plant
• Ability to work as part of a specialist shift team and liaise with numerous personnel during critical plant outage periods.
• Willing to work at multiple sites
• Possession of Forklift License preferred
