Job summary

ASEAN Cableship Pte Ltd invites applications for an Operations & Planning Executive internship (3+3 months) to gain exposure across planning, IT systems, QHSE, and vessel operations in the submarine cable sector.

You will support operational plans, data analysis, dashboards, and QHSE compliance while rotating through Marine Operations to learn scheduling and reporting workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Maritime Studies with a Second Major in Data Analytics from NTU or equivalent.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with exposure to data analytics tools.
• Understanding of maritime operations, vessel scheduling, and operational KPIs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with dashboards or automation tools is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing operational plans, schedules, and resource allocation reports.
• Support data analysis for performance tracking and KPI reporting.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
• Help compile and maintain documentation for operational processes.
• Assist in maintaining and updating operational dashboards and planning tools.
• Support troubleshooting of basic IT issues related to planning systems.
• Help with data integrity checks and reporting automation tasks.

POSITION: OPERATIONS & PLANNING EXECUTIVE (3+3 MONTHS CONTRACT)

This position offers opportunity to take part in AI implementation projects in the cable ship industry. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals, develop technical and analytical skills, and gain first‑hand insight into how marine operations are planned, executed, and optimized.

Responsible for:

Operations & Planning Support

• Assist in preparing operational plans, schedules, and resource allocation reports.
• Support data analysis for performance tracking and KPI reporting.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
• Help compile and maintain documentation for operational processes.

IT & Systems Support

• Assist in maintaining and updating operational dashboards and planning tools.
• Support troubleshooting of basic IT issues related to planning systems.
• Help with data integrity checks and reporting automation tasks.
• Look into data optimization, new marine techs and RAG filing system.

QHSE Compliance

• Support documentation and compliance checks for safety and quality standards.
• Assist in QHSE, ISM, ISO, WSH audits and incident reporting processes.
• Help maintain QHSE records and training logs.
• Help maintain ESG records.
• Board vessel with QHSE executive for audits and inspection.

Marine Operations Rotation

• Learn vessel scheduling, port operations, permitting procedure and cable handling procedures.
• Shadow marine operations team to understand real-time decision‑making.
• Assist in compiling marine operation reports during rotation.
• Assist in getting quotation for flight tickets.
• Any other duties as assigned by your manager.

What We’re Looking For:

Pre-Requisites

• Bachelor’s Degree in Maritime Studies with a Second Major in Data Analytics from Nanyang Technological University or equivalent qualification in Maritime, IT disciplines.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with exposure to data analytics tools.
• Understanding of maritime operations, vessel scheduling, and operational KPIs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with dashboards or automation tools is an advantage.
