Job summary

Jason Marine Group Limited, a maritime-centric equipment and service provider, is hiring a Commissioning Technician to manage design and installation of marine electronics and communications onboard vessels, locally and overseas. You will report to the Commissioning Manager and Energy Team and work across installation, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation tasks.

The role requires hands-on installation, collaboration with engineers, and effective communication; fresh graduates are welcomed

Qualifications

• Fresh graduates welcome with onboard mentorship and on-the-job training (OJT).
• Willing to travel on short notice.
• Physically capable and able to work overtime including weekends and public holidays.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Experience in marine telecommunication systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design, assembly, and testing with system or project Engineers.
• Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot navigation, IT, SCADA and communication systems onboard vessels and in workshops.
• Support Factory Acceptance Tests and Site Acceptance Tests with clients.
• Prepare accurate reports, timesheets and service documentation per company/client formats.
• Diagnose faults and collaborate with the team to ensure equipment meets specifications.
• Coordinate with Service Department to resolve inquiries and related tasks.

Job description

Jason Marine Group Limited is a Maritime-centric Equipment and Service Provider based in Singapore, providing marine electronics and communications equipment/services and integration services for the commercial marine and offshore industries in Singapore, Asia and Europe regions.

We are seeking a Commissioning Technician to manage the design and installation of the marine electronics and communications equipment/services onboard shipping vessels, not limited to locally, offshore and overseas. He/ She will report directly to Commissioning Manager and the Energy Team in carrying out the following work and responsibilities:

• Support with implementation/ assembly/ design/ testing with system or/ and project Engineers.


• Carry out installation, termination, testing, troubleshooting, but not limited to Navigation, IT, Scada, Communication system and equipment in workshop assembly and onsite.


• Assist and/ or carry out Factory Acceptance Test & Site Acceptance Test with client.


• Contribute necessary improvements and offer advice about operational procedures.


• Work with the team to investigate problems and diagnose and repair faults, if any, in order for the equipment to work to its specifications


• Help out in the timely and accurate reports, documentation, timesheets, service reports as per company/ client format for submission and reporting.


• Work with the Service Department to resolve enquiries, if required.


• Any other associated tasks and responsibilities assigned from time to time.

Other Requirements

• Able to work under tight schedule and minimum supervision.


• Able to travel in short notice.


• Good verbal communication skill.


• Physically capable and available to work overtime including weekends and public holidays.


• Ensure a safe working environment.


• Experience in Telecommunication system in marine, shipyard, offshore is preferred. Job Title and Grade will commensurate with experience.


• Fresh candidates are also welcome as there will be onboard mentorship and On-Job-Trainings (OJT).


• Desirable overtime allowance after probation period.
