Job description

We are seeking a hands-on and results-driven Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day operations across our central kitchen, and nursing home service points. The ideal candidate has strong experience in food-court operations, coupled with solid operational grounding in food production environments such as central kitchens or catering facilities.

This role requires strong roster planning, people leadership, operational discipline, and the ability to drive efficiency, compliance, and workplace culture across diverse operational settings. You will ensure consistent food quality, smooth operations, and adherence to safety, hygiene, and regulatory standards while working closely with HR, Marketing, and Finance to align operational goals.

Key Responsibilities
Central Kitchen Operations
  • Oversee daily central kitchen production, ensuring meals are prepared according to GentleFoods standards, IDDSI guidelines (where relevant), and food safety compliance.
  • Coordinate production schedules, quality checks, stock levels, and fulfilment for outlets and nursing home partners.
  • Ensure proper equipment maintenance, batch documentation, and kitchen workflow efficiency.
Nursing Home Meal Service Operations
  • Manage operational activities for nursing home partners, ensuring timely delivery, meal accuracy, and adherence to dietary textures and specifications.
  • Conduct routine site checks, audits, and follow-ups to maintain service consistency and partner satisfaction.
  • Work closely with dietetics and QA teams to uphold nutritional integrity and service quality.
Roster & Team Management
  • Plan and manage rosters across central kitchen, outlets, and nursing home teams for optimal coverage.
  • Lead, train, and motivate staff, ensuring fairness, discipline, and strong teamwork.
  • Support HR in recruitment, onboarding training, and performance management.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
  • Ensure full compliance with food safety (SFA), hygiene, licensing, manpower, and employment regulations, including TAFEP guidelines.
  • Lead operational audits, hygiene inspections, and safety checks across all sites.
Operational Improvement
  • Drive continuous improvement across kitchen processes, outlet operations, and service workflows.
  • Implement initiatives that enhance productivity, cost control, workplace culture, and staff engagement.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in F&B operations management, ideally spanning hawker/food-court setups and/or central kitchen environments.
  • Strong in roster planning, manpower management, and operational troubleshooting.
  • Experience in nursing home or healthcare meal service operations is an advantage.
  • Bilingual in English and Mandarin to effectively communicate with a diverse workforce.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable with digital tools and systems.
  • Willing to work weekends and public holidays as operational needs arise.
