Job summary

InternSG offers an internship in the Operations department focused on learning concrete batching processes, order scheduling, and production support at Punggol Timor and Jurong Port Plant.

You will gain hands-on experience under mentorship, with exposure to daily reporting, raw material accounting, and stock control as part of the production team.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Diploma in Civil and/or Structural Engineering or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Able to read and analyze engineering drawings and reports.

Responsibilities

• Learn batching processes at concrete plants (Punggol Timor / Jurong Port Plant).
• Observe order reception and dispatch at Central Command Centre.
• Assist in scheduling customer orders of various sizes.
• Estimate truck turn-around time for large volume orders.
• Support daily production sampling per the control system.
• Assist in reporting daily raw material receipts at batching plants.
• Assist stock-taking and balance of raw materials usage and storage.

Job description

The intern will be tasked to learn the following during his attachment to the operations department:

• Attachment at concrete batching plants at Punggol Timor and/or Jurong Port Plant.
• Learn the batching process for the production of concrete mixes. Learn the order receiving and dispatching process at the Central Command Centre.
• Learn the scheduling of orders received from customers for various size orders.
• Learn estimate truck turn-around time for large volume orders so as to determine the minimum number of trucks for the order.
• Assist in the daily production sampling requirements in accordance with specified production control system.
• Assist in the reporting of daily raw materials receipts at the batching plant.
• Learn stock take and balance of raw materials usage and storage.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Currently in pursuit of Diploma in Civil and/or Structural Engineering or related field
• Effective communication skills both written & oral. Good organizational skills.
• Computer skills proficiency (Microsoft Office)
• Good understanding with Engineering documents (reading/analyzing structural plans, specifications and report writing)
