Job summary

ANG MO KIO - THYE HUA KWAN HOSPITAL LTD. is seeking a multidisciplinary Facilities/Infrastructure Engineer to support planning, maintenance, upgrading, and readiness of the hospital's building systems.

You will help ensure a safe, compliant environment for patients, visitors and staff while coordinating with contractors and vendors. Requires degrees in civil/mechanical/electrical engineering, certification in Fire Safety/Project Management is a plus, and hands-on experience with AutoCAD, MS

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or relevant FM discipline.
• Fire Safety Manager, Safety Manager or Project Manager Certification or Greenmark Manager will be an added advantage.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office is required.
• Experience with MS Project, BIM (Revit/Navisworks), and facilities management systems (e.g. Maximo) is advantageous.
• Fresh Degree holder in Civil Engineering / minimum 8 years of experience for diploma holders.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight timelines.

Responsibilities

• Facilities Maintenance and Operations: assist in day-to-day management of building and infrastructure maintenance works.
• Project Management: support planning, coordination and execution of infrastructure and asset enhancement projects.
• Contractor, Vendor, and Consultant Management: manage consultants, contractors, and service providers; coordinate meetings and inspections.
• Asset & Infrastructure Management: maintain records of building assets and upgrade lifecycle planning.
• Regulatory Compliance & Safety: assist in compliance with building regulations, fire safety and healthcare standards; participate in safety inspections.
• Emergency Response Support: participate in facility emergency preparedness and coordination of repairs.
• Administration: generate monthly reports on maintenance activities and project status.

Job Purpose

To support the planning, maintenance, upgrading, and operational readiness of the healthcare facility's infrastructure and building systems, ensuring a safe, compliant, and conducive environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Responsibilities

• 1.Facilities Maintenance and Operations
  • Assist in the day-to-day management of building and infrastructure maintenance works.
  • Conduct condition assessments of buildings, roads, drainage systems, and other infrastructure assets.
  • Investigate building defects, water seepage, structural concerns, and infrastructure failures.
  • Provide technical recommendations for repairs, upgrades, and replacement programmes.
• 2.Project Management
  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of infrastructure, renovation, upgrading, and asset enhancement projects within the healthcare facility.
  • Support the development of project scopes, technical requirements and specifications, cost estimates, and project schedules.
  • Participate in feasibility studies, site assessments, and technical evaluations for proposed projects.
  • Coordinate project implementation activities to ensure completion within approved budget, timeline, and quality requirements.
  • Track project milestones and prepare progress reports for management.
• 3.Contractor, Vendor, and Consultant Management
  • Manage consultants, contractors, and service providers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct regular project meetings and site inspections.
  • Monitor contractor performance, quality of work, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Resolve project issues, disputes, and technical challenges in a timely manner.
  • Ensure proper testing, commissioning, and handover of completed projects.
• 4.Asset & Infrastructure Management
  • Maintain records of building assets, infrastructure systems, and maintenance history.
  • Assist in technical condition assessments and lifecycle planning of infrastructure assets.
  • Support inventory management of maintenance materials and equipment.
  • Update asset databases and maintenance management systems.
• 5.Regulatory Compliance & Safety
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with relevant building regulations, fire safety requirements, and healthcare facility standards.
  • Participate in workplace safety inspections and risk assessments.
  • Support audits, inspections, and accreditation exercises.
• 6.Emergency Response Support
  • Participate in facility emergency preparedness and business continuity activities.
  • Assist in technical support and coordinating infrastructure-related emergency repairs and recovery works.
  • Technical support for incident investigations involving building or infrastructure defects.
• 7.Administration
  • Generate monthly reports on maintenance activities and project status.
  • Any ad-hoc duties assigned

Requirements

• Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or relevant FM discipline.
