Job summary

Hamilton Barnes is seeking a NOC Engineer to join a large-scale network operations function supporting critical infrastructure across hyperscale cloud data centre environments in Singapore. You will monitor network infrastructure, respond to alerts, perform initial troubleshooting and collaborate with specialist teams to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• Experience monitoring network infrastructure and responding to alerts through monitoring or event management platforms.
• Exposure to routers, switches and network technologies within a production environment.
• Good understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, routing, switching and VLANs.
• Experience troubleshooting technical incidents and escalating issues to relevant engineering teams.
• Familiarity with incident and ticket management tools such as JIRA, ServiceNow or similar.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a structured approach to incident resolution.
• Comfortable working with documented processes, operational procedures and runbooks.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to remain methodical when responding to incidents in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor routers, switches and wider network infrastructure through enterprise monitoring and alerting platforms.
• Identify and respond to network alarms, incidents and operational events across cloud data centre environments.
• Carry out initial investigation and troubleshooting to understand the cause and impact of network issues.
• Serve as the first point of response for network incidents affecting live production environments.
• Escalate more complex technical issues to the appropriate Network Engineering, Infrastructure or Site Operations teams.
• Coordinate incidents from initial detection through to resolution, ensuring relevant teams remain informed throughout.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, network events and maintenance activities using JIRA and internal ticketing platforms.
• Produce clear incident reports, operational handovers and supporting technical documentation.
• Assist with planned network maintenance and infrastructure changes in line with established runbooks and operational procedures.
• Help maintain the availability, performance and reliability of network infrastructure supporting a global hyperscale technology environment.
