Job summary

HANWHA OFFSHORE ENGINEERING SERVICES SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. seeks an experienced NDT Lead to manage yard NDT activities, review inspection findings, and ensure adherence to project codes and client specifications.

The role includes mentoring engineers and inspectors, developing NDT procedures, and conducting supplier audits to maintain quality in EPC yard projects. The ideal candidate holds an NDT Level III and a Mechanical/Materials/Metallurgy degree, with at least a decade of EPC yard experience

Qualifications

• Degree and NDT Level III (ISO 9712) required.
• 10 years' experience in structural and piping fabrication yard.
• Experience managing yard NDT activities in EPC projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise NDT personnel and review inspection findings and reports.
• Ensure compliance with codes and client specs (ASME, AWS, ISO, API, DNV, ABS).
• Coordinate yard NDT activities with sub-contractors and provide technical support.
• Mentor NDT engineers, inspectors and QC inspectors in NDT.
• Develop/review/approve NDT procedures and techniques per project requirements.
• Audit NDT contractors to ensure compliance and calibrate equipment and techniques.
• Conduct risk assessments for NDT work and lead yard risk processes.
• Deliver project-specific inductions/workshops on NDT requirements.

Job Description:

• Lead and supervise the NDT personnel, reviewing their inspection findings and reports.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards (ASME, AWS, ISO, API, DNV, ABS) and Client Specifications.
• Manage Yard NDT activities in co-ordination with NDT sub-contractors.
• Mentor the NDT Engineer, Inspectors & QC inspectors related to NDT.
• Develop/Review/approve NDT procedures, NDT techniques complying with project/code/regulatory requirements.
• Review and approve NDT procedures prepared by NDT sub-contractor as per project specification prior to submitting for client approval.
• Monitor the performance of NDT personnel through system of review of qualification, competency assessment.
• Risk assessment of NDT works and lead the risk assessment process of NDT in the yard.
• Prepare and conduct Project Specific Inductions/workshops/tool/box talk about NDT requirements.
• Establish calibration and validation blocks required to demonstrate Ultrasonic Testing.
• Perform Audit on NDT contractors to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Maintain calibration of equipment and validation of NDT techniques.
• Provide technical support for NDT activity in the yard.
• Provide effective audit programming for companywide NDT activities.
• Quality induction to Sub-contractors on the project quality requirements for projects prior to start of work.
• Ensure all regulatory, quality and customer requirements are met in NDT process.
• Understanding of clients' needs and ability to suggest and apply fit for purpose solutions.

Job Requirement:

• Degree in Mechanical /Materials/ Metallurgy Engineering with NDT Level III (ISO 9712) in RT, UT, MT, PT & PAUT
• 10 years' experiences in structural and piping fabrication yard managing yard NDT activities in EPC projects.
