Job summary

ByteDance PTE. LTD. is seeking a talented software professional for the TikTok Search Team in Singapore. You will work on building and owning our search engine, combining information retrieval with modern ML methods from NLP, CV, multimodal, and recommender systems.

You will optimize ranking, query understanding, and content understanding across local and global scales, collaborating with product and infra teams to deliver impactful features. A strong background in CS and ML is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in software development, CS, or related field.
• Proficient in C++, Python and Java with solid algorithm/data structures knowledge.
• Solid knowledge of machine learning and practical application experience.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to gain insights from complex data.

Responsibilities

• Optimize full-stack algorithms for local services search to improve user experience and ecosystem growth.
• Improve TikTok core and vertical search quality across query understanding, content understanding, and ranking.
• Develop search ranking algorithms using ML, AI, NLP/CV to optimize query and video understanding and ranking.
• Optimize e-commerce search and recommendation services to increase traffic and improve user purchase cognition.
• Collaborate with product and infrastructure teams to deliver impactful features at a global scale.
