Job summary

TikTok Singapore is seeking a skilled software engineer to join the Search Architecture Team. You will design and develop the search system architecture, focusing on stability, high availability and performance for TikTok Search users.

You will tackle large‑scale, high concurrency workloads, optimize data flows, and collaborate across teams to deliver core search capabilities and innovative technologies. Experience with C, C++, Java or Golang is valued, and ownership mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science or related field with 3+ years building scalable systems.
• Proficient in programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Golang; C++ is a plus.
• Strong coding style, ownership, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the search system of TikTok and its affiliated products, and solving the architecture optimization problem of the search architecture system.
• Support the design and development of the search system, and the output core search capabilities of bytes and high-quality content to partners.
• Focus on architecture abstraction and process optimization for search scenarios, support large-scale machine learning optimization.
• Focus on large-scale systems with high concurrency and high throughput, improve system stability, performance, and scalability.
• Research and development and optimization of core components, application and implementation of new technologies.
• Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialised utility programs.
• Analyse user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
• Update software, enhances existing software capabilities, and develops and directs software testing and validation procedures.
• Work with computer hardware engineers to integrate hardware and software systems and develop specifications and performance requirements.
