Job summary

United Overseas Bank Limited (UOB) is seeking a Middleware Administrator with 1–2 years of hands-on experience in enterprise middleware environments, including IBM MQ, IBM Connect:Direct and Apache Kafka. The role focuses on availability, resilience, DR testing, and RCA participation.

You will monitor, troubleshoot, and support middleware across Linux/Windows, and collaborate with L1 teams to prevent service degradation while providing 24x7 on-call coverage.

Qualifications

• Degree in IT, CS, Engineering or equivalent.
• 1–2 years in infrastructure, middleware or related tech support.
• Practical knowledge of IBM MQ, IBM Connect:Direct or Apache Kafka.
• Good knowledge of Linux/Unix environments.
• Willingness to participate in a 24x7 on-call roster.

Responsibilities

• Perform service recovery and administration of IBM MQ, IBM Connect:Direct, and Apache Kafka.
• Monitor availability, performance and capacity of middleware platforms.
• Troubleshoot middleware incidents including queue managers, channels, listeners, topics, and consumer lag.
• Participate in DR testing and RCA for incidents.
• Provide 24x7 on-call support and collaborate with L1 teams.
