Job summary

1011 United Overseas Bank Ltd (UOB) is seeking a Middleware Administrator with 1–2 years of hands-on experience in enterprise middleware environments, including IBM MQ, IBM Connect:Direct and Apache Kafka. You will support administration, monitoring and troubleshooting across Linux and Windows.

The role focuses on middleware availability, DR testing, RCA participation and on-call support, working closely with L1 teams to ensure operational resilience and rapid issue resolution.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in infrastructure or middleware support.
• Hands-on with IBM MQ, IBM Connect:Direct, or Apache Kafka.
• Strong Linux/Unix knowledge.
• Exposure to incident management and DR testing.
• Willing to participate in 24x7 on-call roster.

Responsibilities

• Perform service recovery and administer IBM MQ, IBM Connect:Direct, and Apache.
• Monitor availability, performance and capacity of middleware platforms.
• Troubleshoot middleware incidents including MQ components, Kafka topics, and Connect:Direct issues.
• Participate in DR testing and RCA for incidents.
• Provide 24x7 on-call support.
• Collaborate with L1 monitoring/support teams to investigate alerts.
