Job summary

United Overseas Bank Ltd in Singapore seeks a Middleware Administrator with 1-2 years of hands-on experience to manage IBM MQ, IBM Connect:Direct and Apache Kafka in a distributed environment.

You will monitor availability, performance and DR readiness, participate in RCA for critical incidents, and provide 24x7 on-call support alongside L1 teams, ensuring high availability and resilience of middleware platforms across Linux and Windows.

Qualifications

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 1-2 years of experience in infrastructure, middleware, or related technology support role.
• Practical knowledge of IBM MQ, IBM Connect:Direct, or Apache Kafka.
• Good knowledge of Linux/Unix environments.
• Understanding of incident troubleshooting and production support practices.
• Willingness to participate in a 24x7 on-call support roster.

Responsibilities

• Perform service recovery and administration of IBM MQ, IBM Connect:Direct, and Apache Kafka.
• Monitor the availability, performance and capacity of middleware platforms.
• Troubleshoot middleware incidents involving IBM MQ queue managers, channels, listeners, queues and message flows; Kafka brokers and topics.
• Participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) testing.
• Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for critical incidents.
• Provide 24x7 on-call support and collaborate with L1 monitoring teams.
