Job summary

MEDINEX LIMITED in Singapore seeks an Ophthalmic Technician to operate diagnostic equipment, prepare and calibrate devices, and assist during eye examinations to ensure a smooth clinical workflow.

Qualifications

  • Certification in Ophthalmic Technology, Optometry, or a related healthcare field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an ophthalmic or clinical setting.
  • Proficient in operating advanced ophthalmic diagnostic tools.
  • Experience managing patient records, scheduling, and patient interactions.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities

  • Operate ophthalmic equipment to perform diagnostic tests and assessments.
  • Prepare, calibrate and troubleshoot equipment; coordinate servicing as needed.
  • Assist patients before examinations to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Support ophthalmologists during consultations and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate patient records in line with regulations.
  • Collaborate with doctors and staff to ensure efficient patient flow.
  • Participate in healthcare events and community outreach.
  • Monitor supplies for daily clinic operations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve clinical workflows.
  • Assist with patient registration and appointment coordination.
  • Handle administrative duties to support clinic operations.

Job description

Responsibilities:


  • Operate ophthalmic equipment to conduct accurate diagnostic tests and assessments for patient eye care

  • Prepare, calibrate, and perform basic troubleshooting of ophthalmic equipment, and coordinate servicing and repairs where required

  • Assist patients in preparing for eye examinations, diagnostic tests, and ophthalmic procedures to ensure a smooth clinical workflow

  • Conduct and assist witheye screening activities when required

  • Support ophthalmologists and clinical staff during patient consultations, examinations, and procedures

  • Maintain accurate, complete, and secure patient medical records in accordance with clinic and regulatory requirements

  • Collaborate with doctors, optometrists, and clinic staff to ensure efficient patient flow and quality patient care

  • Participate inhealthcare events and community outreach programmes

  • Monitor and maintain adequate supplies of medical and ophthalmic consumables required for daily clinic operations and screening activities

  • Identify opportunities to improve clinical workflows and operational efficiency within the clinic

  • Support the implementation via telephone, email and WhatsApp

  • Manage patient registration and appointment coordination, where required, to support efficient patient flow and service delivery

  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned to support the overall operations of the clinic


Required competencies and certifications:


  • Certification in Ophthalmic Technology, Optometry, or a related healthcare field

  • Minimum 2years of experience in an ophthalmic or clinical setting

  • Proficient in operating advanced ophthalmic diagnostic tools

  • Experience managing patient records, scheduling, and patient interactions

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team


Preferred competencies and qualifications

Knowledge of additional languages is an advantage
