Job summary

Tan Tock Seng Hospital is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to support clinical care through ophthalmic investigations and documentation of ocular structures.

The role covers HVF, OCT imaging (Cirrus/Spectralis), anterior segment assessment, refractive surgery evaluation, and adherence to safety and quality standards. On‑the‑job training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Diploma in any discipline.
• Preferred IT related/Engineering/Biochemical background.
• On the job training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Perform ophthalmic investigations and document ocular images (HVF, OCT).
• Assist in anterior segment assessments and corneal topography.
• Support refractive surgery assessments and measurement of CCT.
• Maintain patient safety and accurate record keeping.
• Participate in department projects and eye screening events.

OPHTHALMIC TECHNICIAN

Main Duties And Responsibilities

• CLINICAL CARE

Ophthalmic Investigations

• Humphrey Visual Field (HVF)
• Photography and document the ocular structures in optical images
• Cirrus OCT
• Spectralis OCT (SPOCT)

Ophthalmic Technician Sub-specialty Investigations Includes Either And/or

Anterior Segment assessment

• AL-Scan
• OPD Scan
• Endothelial Cell Count (ECC)

Refractive Surgery assessment

• Corneal Topography (Orbscan and Galilei)
• Optical Abberation (HOA) (Zywave)
• Cornea Central Thickness (CCT) (Ultrasound Pachymetry)
• SAFE CARE
• Maintain zero harm to patient
• Practice due diligence during all patient interactions to ensure safety of the patient at all times.
• Undertake corrective actions immediately and consistently when feedback given.
• RESEARCH & QUALITY
• May assist in department projects.
• GENERAL & AD-HOC DUTIES
• Actively involved in hospital and department’s initiatives e.g. eye screening events
• Any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
