Job summary

Singapore National Eye Centre is seeking a motivated individual to support ophthalmic staff by performing basic eye tests and maintaining patient records. You will work under ophthalmologist guidance to assist in diagnosing ocular conditions and ensure smooth clinic operations.

Ideal candidates hold a Biomedical Diploma and possess good communication skills, with a friendly approach to patients. Training in eye procedures will be provided.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent in Biomedical Sciences or Biomedical Technology.
• Fresh diploma holders are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist ophthalmologist in diagnosing ocular conditions under supervision.
• Perform basic ophthalmic eye investigations (e.g., glaucoma screening) as part of patient care.
• Update patient database records and handle administrative tasks.
• Demonstrate competency in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Carry out any other duties as assigned.

Job description

Assist to provide technical ophthalmic assistance to medical staff. You will be required to perform various eye tests and update database records of procedures performed.

Job Responsibilities:

• work under the directions of ophthalmologist to assist in the diagnosis of ocular conditions

• perform basic ophthalmic eye investigation tests for different subspecialty group e.g. glaucoma screening

• perform administrative functions and update patient's database records.

• able to achieve competency in a fast paced environment

• any other duties as assigned

*Basic knowledge of the eye will be an advantage but not essential as technical on job training will be provided.

Job Requirements:

• Diploma in Biomedical Sciences, Biomedical Technology or equivalent

• Fresh Diploma holder in Biomedical Sciences, Biomedical Technology are welcome to apply

• Computer literate with the ability to work independently

• Basic knowledge of the eye conditions will be an advantage

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Enjoys working with patients
