Job summary

Rapsodo, Inc. in Singapore seeks an ambitious Mechatronics/Robotics focused engineer for simulation and validation of a high-speed sports robot. You will model mechanisms, predict behavior, and verify predictions against real data on an on-site lab.

The role spans mechanical, hardware, firmware, and software teams with substantial hands-on testing and data analysis. You will build multibody models, analyze balancing concepts, and perform FEAs to flag stiffness and fatigue risks.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed BS/MS in Mechatronics, Mechanical, or Robotics Engineering (or equivalent).
• Available full-time in Singapore for at least 6 months.
• Strong grounding in dynamics, mechanism kinematics, and vibration fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with at least one simulation tool and willingness to go deep.
• CAD proficiency with SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or NX.
• Comfortable with lab instrumentation and data acquisition.
• Able to work with hardware, firmware, and software engineers.
• Writes clearly; safety-conscious around high-energy moving machinery.

Responsibilities

• Build multibody dynamics models of the robot mechanisms and extract joint loads, torques, and CG behavior.
• Analyze dynamic balancing and counterweight concepts and quantify their effects.
• Run structural and modal FEA to identify stiffness limits, resonances, fatigue features.
• Correlate models against measured data to validate simulations.
• Help build the robot validation tool, test fixtures, instrumentation, and measurement setup.
• Instrument the robot with sensors and turn signals into usable data.
• Run validation campaigns: performance, repeatability, durability, and life cycling.
• Collaborate with firmware/software engineers on test automation and data logging.
