Opportunity

• Hands‑on concept and detailed Mechanical design for a range of projects, in a lead discipline engineer role, providing design calculations, drawings and specifications.
• Facilitate and coordinate design activities, processes and other technical standards within the MEP team, including the review and monitoring of technical standards to ensure that design techniques, review and check, reference material and software tools are up‑to‑date and correctly applied.
• Undertake technical reviews of MEP projects at appropriate stages to ensure that the project approach and deliverables are achieved.
• Develop and maintain good relationships with industry networks, clients, government agencies, sub‑consultants and construction contractors relevant to the MEP team’s activities.
• Supervise/prepare proposals/submissions and assist with negotiation of contracts within the MEP team’s framework.

Qualifications

• Recognised relevant tertiary qualification in Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 3 years of detailed mechanical design experience with an engineering consultancy.
• Membership of relevant professional institutions or progress towards eligibility.
• Good working knowledge of relevant local and international legislation, regulations, codes of practice and guidelines.
• Ability to communicate with people at all levels in both technical and non‑technical environments, with effective written communication and report‑writing skills.
