Job summary

ATREC PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks a materials research assistant to support experimental work in our laboratory. You will conduct literature reviews, perform materials production, fabrication, and assembly, and assist in field trials and testing activities.

You will document processing procedures and findings, source materials and equipment, manage inventory, and coordinate maintenance of lab facilities while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and meticulous record keeping.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Materials Science & Engineering or related discipline.
• Understanding of material properties, processing, fabrication, and testing methodologies.
• Strong research and experimental skills including literature reviews, designing experiments, analyzing results, and supporting field trials.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical report-writing skills.
• Experience in laboratory operations including inventory management, procurement, and equipment maintenance coordination.
• Meticulous, organized, and able to maintain accurate documentation and records.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety practices, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct literature reviews and support experimental research activities.
• Perform materials production, fabrication, and assembly processes.
• Assist in field trials, testing, and evaluation activities.
• Document materials processing procedures, experimental findings, and field trial results, including the preparation of technical reports.
• Source and procure materials, equipment, and laboratory consumables.
• Maintain laboratory inventory and stock records.
• Coordinate and monitor the periodic maintenance of laboratory equipment and facilities.
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and procedures.
• Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a safe, clean, and organized laboratory environment.
