Job summary

A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research in Singapore seeks a Laboratory Officer to support the Metal Forming R&D team. You will assist with experiments, data collection, and the safe operation of lab facilities, while engaging with engineers and scientists on project milestones.

Responsibilities cover equipment maintenance, safety compliance, inventory management, and documentation of experimental results.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Materials Engineering or related discipline.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience preferred, fresh graduates welcome.
• Hands-on interest in metal forming, machining or lab testing.

Responsibilities

• Set up and conduct experiments and trials; collect, process and analyze data.
• Master operation of forming presses, heat treatment furnaces, robots, rolling machines.
• Support material testing, metallographic characterization and reporting.
• Maintain lab equipment, safety compliance, and inventory records.
• Prepare test setups and liaise with suppliers for materials and tooling.
