Job summary

A maritime consultancy firm in Singapore seeks an Assistant Marine Surveyor to conduct various surveys on ships and cargo inspections. The ideal candidate will have relevant qualifications in Marine or Nautical studies and some onboard experience. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with standards and working irregular hours as per ships' schedules. This position offers opportunities for travel and requires a candidate prepared for a six-month probationary period.

Job description
Assistant Marine Surveyor

Working Location: Islandwide and in anchorages (On ship)

Working Days: 5 Day A Week

Working Hours: 0830 hrs to 1730 hrs (Prepared to work irregular hours as well as on weekends and Public Holidays) due to ships’ schedule

Job Scope
  • To attend / carry out various types of survey on board ships and sites on cargo, cargo measuring equipment and marine related activities.
  • To perform marine survey onboard vessels and cargo inspection on sites in order to assess and report on their condition for insurance claim.
  • To verify the equipment onboard vessel to ensure compliance with various standards or specifications.
Job Requirement
  • Nitec/ITE related in Marine or Diploma in Nautical, Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering or Marine related from a local polytechnic/private institution.
  • Experience onboard vessel will be an advantage such as Ex-Sea farers, Ex-Navy, Ex-PCG (police coast guard) and Ex-SCDF (marine).
  • Prepare to work at irregular hours as well as on weekends and Public Holidays due to ships’ schedule.
  • Opportunity to travel overseas upon satisfactorily performance and skill.
  • Successful candidate will be on six months' probation.
