Job summary

CMA CGM Singapore seeks a skilled SSE Expert to ensure IMS compliance across our vessel fleet and to monitor continuous performance improvements. You will report periodically on results and coordinate with ship and shore teams to maintain QHSSE standards.

You will lead and participate in audits (ISM, ISO, ISPS, MLC, flag audits), train staff, and travel regularly for ship visits. The role requires independence, teamwork, and strong knowledge of maritime safety and ethics policies.

Qualifications

• Experience as Captain or Chief Officer on merchant ships.
• Trained in ISM and ISO internal audits, CSO and accident investigations.
• Knowledge of QHSE management principles.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Willingness to travel aboard ships for visits/inspections.

Responsibilities

• Comply with IMS and international rules and regulations.
• Adhere to quality, health, safety, environmental and ethics policies.
• Propose and monitor a continuous performance improvement plan.
• Assist in QSSE responsibilities for assigned vessels.
• Perform on-duty tasks as needed.
• Implement Integrated Management System and Ship Security Plan.
• Facilitate communication between ashore departments and vessels.
• Ensure vessels are manned, maintained, and seaworthy.
• Manage audits (ISM, ISPS, MLC, ISO, flag audits).
• Conduct QSSE audits or inquiries onboard vessels.
• Oversee corrective and preventive actions.
• Train shore and ship staff.
• Monitor regulations.
• Coordinate with flag administrations and classification societies.
• Participate in Emergency Response Team when required.
