Job summary

Eastern Pacific Shipping Pte. Ltd. seeks a proactive Marine HR professional to act as the central contact for HR matters across an assigned fleet of vessels.

You will support Marine HR Managers in recruitment, training, and strategic workforce planning to ensure staffed, compliant crews and ongoing fleet expansion. You will review crew requirements monthly, screen applications, verify certificates, and coordinate rotations with fleet management.

Qualifications

  • Diploma qualification in a related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of marine HR experience, onboard or shore-based.
  • Strong knowledge of fleet marine HR processes and maritime operations.
  • Proficient in English with strong communication skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office and email systems.
  • Experience working in culturally diverse environments.
  • Prior sailing experience with EPS is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Screen and shortlist crew applications and conduct background and certificate verifications.
  • Plan and monitor ship staff rotations and pooling to ensure efficient manpower deployment.
  • Coordinate with fleet and technical managers to assign vessel management teams in line with STCW and company policies.
  • Maintain documentation for all new hires and rejoinders for audit and planning purposes.
  • Ensure vessels meet MLC requirements and EPS manning standards.
  • Organize office briefings for senior officers and training sessions for promotion candidates.
  • Review crew performance appraisals and identify candidates for development and promotion.
  • Communicate company procedures and compliance standards to global manning offices.

Job description

We are seeking a proactive and detailed professional to join our team as the central point of contact for marine HR matters across an assigned fleet of vessels. This critical role supports Marine HR Managers in delivering excellence across recruitment, training, and strategic workforce planning for vessel management teams. By ensuring our ships are staffed with qualified, competent, and high-performing crew, you will play a direct part in our continued operational success and fleet expansion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for marine HR matters for assigned vessels.
  • Review crew requirements monthly and collaborate with manning offices to fulfill recruitment needs.
  • Screen and shortlist crew applications and conduct comprehensive background and certificate verifications.
  • Plan and monitor ship staff rotations and pooling to ensure efficient manpower deployment.
  • Coordinate with fleet and technical managers to assign vessel management teams in compliance with STCW and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for all new hires and rejoinders for audit and planning purposes.
  • Ensure all vessels consistently meet MLC requirements and EPS manning standards.
  • Organize office briefings for senior officers and manage training sessions for promotion candidates.
  • Review crew performance appraisals and identify candidates for career development and promotion.
  • Communicate company procedures and compliance standards to global manning offices.
Requirements
  • Minimum a diploma qualification, ideally in a related discipline
  • At least 3 years of experience in marine HR matters, gained either onboard ships or in a shore-based role.
  • Strong knowledge of fleet marine HR processes and maritime operations.
  • Good command of spoken and written English with excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in IT tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and email systems.
  • A strong appreciation for and ability to work effectively within culturally diverse environments.
  • Prior sailing experience with EPS is preferred but not mandatory.
