Job summary

Ministry of Defence of Singapore is seeking a communications professional to manage NS-related publicity and external communications. You support the external-facing National Service (NS)-related communications, being responsible for generating and packaging NS-related publicity materials and collaterals for dissemination to external stakeholders, including Ministry of Defence (MINDEF)-related organisations, employers, communities, and the public.

What You Will Be Working On

• Generate publicity materials and collaterals
• Ensure timely dissemination of NS-related information to external stakeholders
• Iterate with respective domain owners to ensure accuracy of content
• Develop the publicity and communications plan
• Maintain updated content and high satisfaction levels on NS-related public-facing platforms
• Prepare draft replies for NS-related feedback
• Ensure all queries and feedback are addressed in a timely manner

Challenge(s)

• Keeping abreast of NS issues across various functions and work closely with multiple branches and departments to develop accurate and relevant content
• Understanding the profile and preferences of the wide range of NS stakeholders to develop content that resonates with each target group
• Working within tight timelines to develop and disseminate publicity materials at pace

What We Are Looking For

• Education in Communications or a related field is preferred
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity, such as media relations or public communications is preferred
• Good command of spoken and written English
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Meticulous, patient, and self-directed with strong attention to detail
• Keen interest in NS management and defence matters
