Job summary

MINDEF is seeking a communications professional to support NS-related external communications by generating and packaging publicity materials for dissemination to MINDEF-related organisations, employers, communities, and the public.

You will manage timelines, iterate with domain owners to ensure content accuracy, develop publicity plans, maintain NS content on public platforms, and prepare draft replies to feedback. Appointment commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Education in Communications or related field is preferred.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity, such as media relations or public communications is preferred.
• Good command of spoken and written English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Meticulous, patient, and self-directed with strong attention to detail.
• Keen interest in NS management and defence matters.

What the role is:

You support the external-facing National Service (NS)-related communications, being responsible for generating and packaging NS-related publicity materials and collaterals for dissemination to external stakeholders, including Ministry of Defence (MINDEF)-related organisations, employers, communities, and the public.

Challenge(s)

• Keeping abreast of NS issues across various functions and work closely with multiple branches and departments to develop accurate and relevant content
• Understanding the profile and preferences of the wide range of NS stakeholders to develop content that resonates with each target group
• Working within tight timelines to develop and disseminate publicity materials at pace

What we are looking for:

• Education in Communications or a related field is preferred
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity, such as media relations or public communications is preferred
• Good command of spoken and written English
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Meticulous, patient, and self-directed with strong attention to detail
• Keen interest in NS management and defence matters(Applicants with no experience may apply.)
