Job summary

MINDEF/SAF seeks a strategic communications professional to formulate, integrate, and synchronise information policies across all SC domains, working with MINDEF/SAF departments and public agencies to safeguard public commitment to defence and strengthen trust in MINDEF/SAF.

You will analyse trends, develop policy plans, and coordinate information exercises to align national messages with Singapore's defence and security priorities and international standing.

Qualifications

• Education in Communications or related field.
• At least 2 years in communications preferred.
• Strong command of written and spoken English.

What The Role Is

You formulate, integrate, and synchronise information policies and strategies across all domains of Strategic Communications (SC), working closely with MINDEF/SAF departments and public agencies to deepen understanding and safeguard public commitment to defence, build trust and confidence in MINDEF/SAF, enhance our international standing, and maintain support for National Service (NS).

What You Will Be Working On

• Develop and integrate Strategic Communications policies and strategies
• Understand observed trends and provide advice on SC policy and strategy
• Analyse trends and provide advice on Strategic Communications policy and strategy
• Maintain an up-to-date understanding of public sentiments and align MINDEF/SAF's narrative and policy approaches to the national-level framework and messages
• Drive the operational development of MINDEF/SAF Strategy and Plans Information Hub and plan
• Plan, coordinate and conduct information exercises Challenge(s)
• Utilising multi-pronged sources of information to make sense of ongoing and rapidly developing changes in the information environment
• Developing clear and implementable plans and policies

What We Are Looking For

• Education in Communication Studies, Political Science, Social Sciences or a related field
• At least 2 years of experience in communications is preferred
• Strong command of written and spoken English
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Good understanding of Singapore's media landscape
• Knowledge of and keen interest Singapore's media, political, defence and security developments
• Good understanding of Singapore's media landscape
• Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
