Our client, a reputable public sector organisation, is seeking an experienced and driven Manager, Fixed Assets to join their Finance team on a 1-year contract.

Key Responsibilities
Fixed Assets Accounting & Management
- Oversee the end-to-end accounting, tracking and reporting of fixed assets.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and relevant financial reporting standards.
- Maintain accurate and complete fixed asset records.
- Manage fixed asset confirmation exercises with external stakeholders.
- Support year-end closing activities and audit requirements.
Stakeholder Advisory & Partnership
- Act as a subject matter expert on fixed assets matters.
- Advise stakeholders on accounting treatment, asset classification and policy requirements.
- Provide recommendations and solutions to operational and accounting-related issues.
- Partner closely with internal and external stakeholders on fixed assets initiatives.
Process Improvement & Digitalisation
- Review existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Lead initiatives to enhance efficiency, controls and reporting accuracy.
- Drive the adoption of digitalisation, automation and AI tools to streamline workflows.
- Develop and maintain governance documentation, guidelines and SOPs.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching and capability development.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Support onboarding and skills development as processes evolve.
Requirements
- Degree in Accountancy or equivalent professional qualification.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant finance experience.
- Proven experience in fixed assets accounting and management, preferably in the public sector or a large organisation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated experience in process improvement and project implementation.
- Self-motivated, resourceful and able to work independently in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Meticulous with numbers and proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of SAP.
- Experience with AI tools, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), data analytics and visualisation tools.
- Prior experience leading teams and driving transformation initiatives.
