Job summary

Varel Singapore invites ambitious individuals to join a Management Trainee – Hotel Operations programme. The program offers hands-on exposure across hotel departments, working with experienced leaders to learn and contribute while assuming increasing responsibilities and delivering memorable guest experiences that reflect the Tribute Portfolio brand.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Business Management, or a related discipline.
• Previous internship or work experience in a hotel or hospitality environment is an advantage.
• Strong passion for hospitality and genuine interest in building a long-term career in the hotel industry.
• Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong sense of responsibility.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• A proactive and curious mindset with a willingness to learn across different areas of hotel operations.

• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays

Management Trainee – Hotel Operations

As a Management Trainee, you will gain hands-on experience across various aspects of hotel operations while developing the skills and knowledge needed for a successful career in hospitality. Working closely with experienced leaders and different departments, you will be given opportunities to learn, contribute, and take on increasing responsibilities while delivering memorable guest experiences that reflect the individuality and character of our Tribute Portfolio brand.

What You Will Be Doing

• Gain practical exposure to various hotel departments and day-to-day operations
• Support departmental leaders in ensuring smooth, efficient, and consistent operations
• Learn and uphold Marriott brand standards and the hotel's service standards
• Assist in delivering exceptional guest experiences across different touchpoints
• Support daily manpower planning, task allocation, and operational coordination
• Work closely with different departments to ensure seamless communication and operations
• Assist with handling guest enquiries, feedback, and service recovery in a professional manner
• Participate in departmental meetings, briefings, training sessions, and operational projects
• Support the implementation of initiatives aimed at improving service quality, efficiency, and guest satisfaction
• Learn and comply with food safety, hygiene, sanitation, workplace safety, and hotel operating standards where applicable
• Assist with administrative duties, operational reports, and departmental records
• Take part in special events, VIP arrangements, hotel initiatives, and other operational activities
• Develop an understanding of hotel financial performance, cost control, productivity, and operational efficiency
• Work towards taking on greater responsibilities and leadership opportunities throughout the programme
• Demonstrate professionalism, initiative, and a guest-focused mindset in all aspects of the role

What We Are Looking For
