Job summary

Rongsheng Petrochemical (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. is seeking an experienced accountant to manage full sets of accounts, including AR/AP, payroll, and month-end closings.

You will ensure accurate depreciation, maintain ledgers, and prepare monthly/annual financial reports. The role requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with Mandarin-English communication to liaise with the China headquarters and Chinese-speaking stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• Experience at Big Four audit firms preferred
• Minimum 5 years accounting experience in petrochemical industry or relevant audit background
• Strong knowledge of derivatives principles is an advantage
• Excellent analytical and communication skills
• Fluent written and spoken English and Mandarin for coordination with China headquarters and Chinese-speaking stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Manage full sets of accounts including sales, purchases, AR and AP entries
• Handle accruals and month-end journal entries
• Account for fixed assets and depreciation (DD&A)
• Maintain and verify all financial ledgers
• Perform cash balance reconciliations
• Conduct account balance reviews and financial analysis
• Assist in monthly and annual financial report preparation
• Generate and issue sales invoices, debit/credit notes, and maintain records
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors and assist in monthly management reports

Job description

1. Manage full sets of accounts, including but not limited to:

• Recognition of sales and purchases, accounts receivable and payable entries
• Proper accounting treatment of expenditures
• Preparation of accruals and other month-end journal entries
• Accurate accounting for fixed assets and depreciation (DD&A)
• Maintenance and verification of all financial ledgers

2. Perform cash balance reconciliations

3. Conduct account balance reviews and financial analysis

4. Support the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports

5. Generate or assist in issuing sales invoices, debit/credit notes, and maintain accurate records

6. Assist in the reconciliation of AR/AP balances, including inter-company transactions

7. Coordinate with internal and external auditors

8. Support the preparation of monthly management reports

9. Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications and Requirements:

1. 1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
2. 2. Candidates with experience at Big Four global audit firms will be given preference
3. 3. Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in the petrochemical industry, or relevant audit experience in accounting firms
4. 4. Strong knowledge of derivatives principles and practices is an advantage
5. 5. Excellent analytical and communication skills
6. 6. Proficient in both written and spoken English and Mandarin, as the role involves communication with the headquarters in China and other Chinese-speaking stakeholders
