Job summary

Public Service Division in Singapore seeks a Deputy/Assistant Manager to help regulate and license bus services. You will evaluate licence applications, assess bus-stop usage, and monitor operations for compliance.

Qualifications

• Preferably at least 2 years of relevant working experience.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess regulatory, licensing and operational issues and formulate sound recommendations.

• Resourceful, self-motivated and confident, with the ability to thrive in an agile and fast-paced environment.
• A good team player who is able to work collaboratively across teams and agencies.

[What the role is]

[LTA-PT] DEPUTY/ASSISTANT MANAGER, BUS SERVICE DEVELOPMENT

[What you will be working on]

You will be part of the team responsible for the licensing and regulation of bus services. You will evaluate applications relating to Bus Service Licences, as well as applications for the use of bus stops. You will also monitor bus service operations and recommend appropriate follow-up actions for non-compliance with licensing conditions.

Beyond licensing work, you will be involved in reviewing and developing rules, regulations, guidelines and policies to ensure that the regulatory framework for bus services remains effective and relevant. You will also review operational guidelines and procedures to streamline work processes and improve operational effectiveness.

The role involves working closely with other government agencies, public and private bus operators, private organisations and community stakeholders on bus and transport-related matters, including issues relating to the transport of migrant workers. You will also attend to public feedback on bus service and regulatory matters.

Through these responsibilities, you will contribute to the development of a robust and responsive bus regulatory framework and support efforts to improve bus services and make public transport a choice mode.
