Job summary

Mitsui Chemicals Asia Pacific, Ltd. is seeking a logistics professional to collaborate with Japan headquarters and the Mitsui Chemicals Group to identify, manage and implement logistics projects aimed at enhancing safety, process efficiency and cost productivity.

You will manage plant logistics operations with a focus on safety, quality and operational excellence, and lead the selection and risk assessment of overseas warehousing partners across the Asia Pacific region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Logistics or a related discipline.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant working experience in logistics, supply chain or a related field.
• Good project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments within tight timelines.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to manage expectations professionally.
• Proactive and effective team player who is also able to work independently.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong follow-up, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working in plant and external warehouse environments.
• Japanese language proficiency is required for communication with counterparts in Japan.

Responsibilities

• Manage plant logistics operations with a focus on safety, quality and operational excellence.
• Lead the selection, qualification, risk assessment and management of overseas warehousing partners.
• Conduct warehouse risk assessments and audits for logistics service providers in Southeast Asia.
• Conduct site visits to affiliates in the Asia Pacific region to identify logistics issues and develop practical improvement solutions.
• Drive logistics digital transformation initiatives, including defining business requirements, evaluating systems and supporting project implementation.
• Lead the workflow design and user acceptance testing for logistics digitalisation projects.
• Manage relationships with shipping lines participating in Singapore freight tenders and oversee carrier performance.
• Manage project timelines and follow up with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
