Job summary

Customs Brokerage Company in Singapore is looking for a capable customs officer to manage import and export clearance, ensuring compliance with all regulations and timely processing of shipments.

You will classify goods using HS codes, prepare shipping documents, liaise with customs authorities, handle permits, support audits, and coordinate with clients and forwarders in a fast-paced environment, with overtime expected.

Qualifications

• Proficient in using computers and Microsoft Office.
• Able to handle pressure and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Eye for detail with ability to prioritise urgent tasks.
• Willing to work overtime on a regular basis.
• Demonstrates good work ethics and positive attitude.
• Fresh graduates may apply as training will be provided.

• Classify goods using HS codes and calculate duties and taxes.
• Prepare and verify all required shipping and customs documentation.
• Liaise with customs authorities to ensure timely clearance of goods.
• Submit permit applications for imports and exports through systems.
• Coordinate with government agencies to obtain necessary licenses or approvals.
• Ensure all shipments meet local and international trade compliance requirements.
• Work closely with internal departments to support logistics operations.
• Communicate with clients, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to provide shipment updates and resolve issues.
• Maintain accurate records and support audits or inspections by customs authorities.
• Keep up-to-date with customs laws, free trade agreements, and regulatory changes.
