Responsibilities

• Consolidate part-container orders into full container loads and manage consolidation schedule.
• Book ocean freight to Port Moresby and coordinate shipping timetable with site needs.
• Prepare and control export/import documentation including packing lists and bills of lading.
• Track shipments from supplier release to site delivery and publish inbound status weekly.
• Coordinate Port Moresby customs clearance and wharf handling with the in-country team.
• Manage marine insurance, damage claims and short-shipment recovery.
• Maintain freight cost records that support landed-cost reconciliation by S-3.
• Manage dangerous goods and hazardous cargo documentation where applicable.

ABOUT LABA

Laba Holdings Limited is the umbrella landowner company of Porebada, Boera, Papa and Rea Rea in Central Province, Papua New Guinea, and operates a group of businesses across construction, logistics, training, technology and community services. These positions form Laba's management team for a camp construction and services package on a major resources construction project in Papua New Guinea, for a 24-month term from contract award. Appointments are subject to contract award.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Logistics and Shipping Coordinator consolidates part-container orders into full container loads, books ocean freight to Port Moresby, and manages customs documentation. The saving in this structure is realised at the point of consolidation, and this is the position that realises it.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Consolidate part-container orders into full container loads before shipment, and hold the consolidation schedule.
• Book ocean freight to Port Moresby and manage the shipping schedule against site need dates.
• Prepare and control export and import documentation, including packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin and certificates of conformity.
• Track every shipment from supplier release to site delivery and publish the inbound status report weekly.
• Coordinate Port Moresby customs clearance and wharf handling with the in-country team, including the project duty and GST exemption position.
• Manage marine insurance, damage claims and short-shipment recovery.
• Maintain the freight cost record that supports landed-cost reconciliation by S-3.
• Manage dangerous goods and hazardous cargo documentation where applicable.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL

• Six years or more in freight forwarding, shipping or project logistics.
• Demonstrated container consolidation and ocean freight booking experience.
• Command of export and import documentation and incoterms.
• Diploma or degree in logistics, supply chain or a related discipline.
• Eligible to work in Singapore, or eligible for an Employment Pass.

DESIRABLE

• Pacific or Papua New Guinea trade lane experience.
• Dangerous goods documentation certification.
• Project cargo and heavy-lift experience.
