Job summary

Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry, Singapore is seeking a Librarian to support the Resource Centre team. You will manage daily library operations, handle inquiries, loans, cataloguing, and maintain records and loan tracking systems.

You will also oversee subscription procurement, curate digital resources, and support horizon scanning initiatives, ensuring high service standards and staff guidance.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of library experience, preferably in a special library.

What The Role Is

We are seeking a dedicated Librarian to join our Resource Centre team. This role offers the opportunity to support our library operations and contribute to ongoing organisational initiatives.

What You Will Be Working On

• Manage daily library operations including handling enquiries, overseeing loan services, cataloguing new materials, and maintaining collection records and loan tracking systems, plus stocktaking.
• Handle procurement processes for subscriptions including obtaining quotes, gathering user feedback, processing renewals, and managing related documentation.
• Curate and manage digital resources by uploading e-resources to the organisation's digital repository and maintaining email distribution lists for publications.
• Undertake research and horizon scanning activities.
• Promote library services and collections to officers, providing guidance on available resources and services.
• Supervise temporary personnel and ensure adherence to library service standards and procedures.
• Perform various administrative tasks.

What We Are Looking For

• Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in library roles, preferably in a special library environment.
• Tech-savvy with strong digital literacy, proficiency with office applications and online platforms.
• Strong organisational skills with experience in procurement processes.
