Job summary

A*STAR – Agency for Science, Technology and Research is hiring a mid‑senior level Legal Counsel to provide legal, corporate and policy advice across its research and technology portfolio. Based in Singapore, you will advise management, collaborate with external partners, draft and structure agreements for research collaboration, licensing, joint ventures and funding, and help shape emerging legislation.

The role requires an LLB (Honours) and admission to the Singapore bar, 3–5 years of corporate

Qualifications

• LLB (Honours) degree and admission to practice at the Singapore bar.
• 3–5 years of experience in corporate/commercial law or in‑house contract negotiations.
• Knowledge of IP law, technology licensing, M&A, joint ventures, disposals and listing rules.
• Strong analytical, communication, independent work and team‑player skills; ability to lead projects.

Responsibilities

• Deliver legal, corporate and policy advice to the A*STAR group.
• Engage with management of various constituents and partner internal clients.
• Collaborate with external partners and facilitate deal closure.
• Draft and structure agreements for research collaboration, licensing, joint ventures, M&A, funding and grants.
• Craft policies and work with public agencies on emerging legislation.
