Job summary

SJ Group is seeking a Learning & Experience Designer for the SJ Global Academy on a 6‑month contract. You will design engaging, accessible learning experiences spanning curricula, digital modules and learner journeys for global audiences.

You will partner with directors, SMEs and stakeholders to craft scalable solutions, ensure accessibility, and apply AI-enabled authoring tools to improve outcomes and measurable impact.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Learning Design, Education or related field.
  • Professional certifications in instructional design, LMS or AI-enabled authoring are favorable but not required.
  • Experience in learning design within professional services, consulting or global corporate environments is ideal.

Responsibilities

  • Design learning solutions aligned with SJ Global Academy strategy and global learner needs.
  • Develop curricula, learning journeys, modules and assessments for scalable delivery.
  • Collaborate with SMEs and stakeholders to ensure content accuracy and relevance.
  • Create storyboards, scripts and learner-focused assets; apply adult learning principles.
  • Ensure LMS readiness with metadata, navigation, completion criteria and accessibility.

Position Purpose

The position of Learning & Experience Designer, SJ Global Academy (6 months contract) is to design engaging, accessible and effective learning experiences that strengthen capability across SJ Group. The role combines learning design, learning experience design and instructional design to translate business and learner needs into structured, measurable and scalable learning solutions. As a specialist individual contributor, the incumbent partners with the Director, SJ Global Academy, regional academy leads, subject matter experts and internal stakeholders to design curricula, digital modules, learner journeys, assessments and learning assets for global audiences. The role focuses on high‑quality design, development, LMS readiness, learner engagement, accessibility, evaluation and continuous improvement. It does not include facilitation, program delivery, direct people management or travel requirements.

Responsibilities
Designs learning solutions aligned with the SJ Global Academy strategy, business capability priorities and global learner needs.
  • Conduct learning needs analysis using stakeholder input, learner data, role requirements and capability priorities
  • Define clear learning objectives, target audiences, success measures and recommended learning approaches
  • Design curriculum architecture, learning pathways, module sequencing and assessment points
  • Partner with SMEs and stakeholders to confirm scope, content accuracy and relevance
  • Document design decisions, project plans, content maps, risks, dependencies and approval requirements
Develops engaging digital learning experiences and instructional materials across SJ Group.
  • Create storyboards, scripts, learner guides, job aids, digital modules, assessments and supporting learning assets
  • Apply adult learning principles, instructional design models and structured content design to improve clarity, retention and application
  • Design learner‑centred experiences using journey mapping, interaction design, scenarios, reflection activities and accessible multimedia
  • Build digital learning assets using Articulate 360, Docebo, ElevenLabs, Synthesia and AI authoring tools
  • Configure content for LMS readiness, including metadata, navigation, completion criteria and learner experience considerations
  • Manage reviews, version control, quality assurance and post‑review updates before launch
Builds collaborative relationships and uses evaluation insights to continuously improve learning experiences.
  • Collaborate with regional academy leads, P&C stakeholders, SMEs and business representatives to gather input and validate design direction
  • Collect and analyse learner feedback, assessment data and LMS analytics to identify improvement opportunities
  • Recommend and implement content revisions, learner experience enhancements and accessibility improvements
  • Maintain reusable templates, standards, design guides and documentation to improve consistency and efficiency
  • Support a professional, responsive and collaborative design process across global stakeholders
Digital Development & Learning Technology
  • Build and maintain learning assets using Articulate 360, Docebo, ElevenLabs, Synthesia and AI authoring tools, ensuring content is accurate, accessible, version‑controlled and deployment‑ready
Evaluation & Continuous Improvement
  • Use learner feedback, assessment results and LMS analytics to evaluate effectiveness, identify improvement opportunities and continuously enhance learning solutions
Requirements
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Learning Design, Education, Educational Technology, Learning & Development, UX Design, Communications or a related field
  • Relevant professional certifications in instructional design, learning experience design, project management, UX, digital learning or AI‑enabled authoring are not required but viewed favourably
  • Relevant experience in learning design, learning experience design, instructional design, digital learning or organisational capability development, ideally within a professional services, consulting or global corporate environment
Has Demonstrated Ability To
  • Translate business, role and learner needs into clear learning objectives and design solutions
  • Develop curriculum maps, learning journeys, storyboards, scripts, assessments and learner‑facing materials
  • Build engaging self‑paced and digital learning assets using modern authoring and AI‑enabled tools
  • Work with SMEs to convert complex technical or business content into clear, accessible learning experiences
  • Manage multiple design projects, review cycles and deadlines with strong attention to quality
  • Evaluate learning effectiveness and use feedback and analytics to improve content and experience design
  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders and operate effectively as a specialist individual contributor
Knowledge & Technical Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design models, curriculum design and assessment design
  • Strong understanding of learner experience design, learner journeys, accessibility, usability and inclusive digital learning practices
  • Proficiency with Articulate 360, Docebo, ElevenLabs, Synthesia and AI authoring tools
  • Ability to design, develop and quality assure digital learning assets, multimedia scripts, assessments and learning resourcesWorking knowledge of LMS configuration, content deployment, completion tracking, learning analytics and reporting
