We are looking for a Learning and Development Executive, based in Singapore, to support Starbucks Singapore’s retail learning and development initiatives.
This role supports the organisation’s learning culture by coordinating and facilitating training programmes, maintaining training records, tracking partner progress, and supporting retail training, learning systems and reporting. Working closely with the Learning and Development Manager, store leaders and internal stakeholders, the role helps ensure learning initiatives are delivered smoothly and effectively, while creating engaging learning experiences that enable partners to learn, grow and deliver the Starbucks Experience.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Retail Training
- Model our Mission and Values and engage learners through a shared vision, compelling stories and learning experiences.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to uncover, understand, and gain support for store learning development solutions.
- Design and implement learning strategies, manage training programs, and develop the Baristas’ and Supervisors’ skills and knowledge.
- Monitor and review training progress through questionnaires, assessments, and discussions.
- Provide competency reports to store managers on trained partners (employees) and follow-up with store managers on their progress.
- Conduct monthly store visits to review learning engagement and follow up on action plans in accordance with the assessment criteria.
- Perform other related training duties or ad-hoc assignments when required.
Training Administration
- Manage training registration and administration for retail partners (e.g. WSQ, Basic Food Hygiene) and any training programmes or initiatives aligned with business requirements.
- Prepare pre-and post-course materials and logistics.
- Respond to partner inquiries on L&D programs by monitoring emails and following up on learning solutions.
- Track programme completion through data collection and analysis, including course feedback and program metrics.
- Tracks L&D programme activity and supports in report preparation.
- Maintain proper documentation and filing system for training resources.
- Administer training-related invoices, claims and training grants.
Managing the Workday LMS System & Ordering Inventory System
- Collaborate with teammates to ensure database accuracy and timely updates of training records.
- Manage training administration and resolve issues in Workday LMS (eg course, vendor, assessor and schedule creation). Establish new processes to support new feature launches in Workday LMS.
- Manage training stock orders and transfers in the ordering inventory system.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Required
- Availability to conduct training sessions and skills assessments on weekends.
- Hold an ACTA or ACLP certification.
Core Competencies
- Demonstrate a growth mindset and continuously explore unique and creative ways to facilitate training using different tools
- Demonstrate working knowledge of basic instructional design principles and develop interactive, engaging and impactful learning experiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel with working knowledge of video editing and e-learning authoring tools (eg. Articulate).
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Plan and prioritise effectively to manage time and meet deadlines and objectives.
- Strong project management and follow-up skills.
- Proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
