Job summary

GovTech in Singapore is seeking a Lead UX Designer to shape the design strategy and operations for a broad portfolio of public-facing digital initiatives. This role blends hands-on design with leadership, mentoring team members and sustaining the health of the design practice.

You will guide product roadmaps, develop ResearchOps and DesignOps frameworks, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed user-centred design across development.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in product design with lifecycle ownership.
• Proven mentoring or people-management of design professionals.
• Ability to balance high-level strategy with detailed execution.
• Experience creating or improving ResearchOps systems.
• Experience owning governance of design systems and tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design strategy for the entire product ecosystem, ensuring a cohesive approach across products.
• Mentor designers with constructive feedback and remove barriers to growth.
• Shape product roadmaps balancing long-term strategy with ongoing project needs.
• Develop and uphold ResearchOps frameworks including data management and insight repositories.
• Oversee DesignOps with standards for design system governance, critiques, and handoffs to engineering.
• Communicate design concepts and strategy clearly to senior leadership, PMs, and engineers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate user-centered design into development processes.
• Conduct regular design reviews to foster continuous improvement within the design team.
