Job summary

The Research Fellow (Project Leader) at NTU Singapore will integrate superconducting nanowire single-photon detectors with photonic integrated circuits and lead the development of fabrication, testing, and packaging workflows for a prototype system.

The role combines advanced device engineering with exploring use cases and pathways to commercialization, contributing to NTU’s mission to develop quantum computing and networking technologies, while mentoring collaborators and publishing results.

Qualifications

• PhD required in physics/engineering or closely related discipline.
• Experience in semiconductor/superconductor nanofabrication & cryogenic devices.
• Familiarity with photonic device/circuit design and simulation tools.
• Proficiency in data acquisition, analysis, and scripting (Python/MATLAB/LabVIEW).
• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Design PIC components and integrate SNSPDs with photonic integrated circuits.
• Scale fabrication and cryogenic testing workflows.
• Characterize detector performance and yield.
• Develop packaging solutions for cryogenic environments and document data.
• Operate labs and contribute to venture program and dissemination of results.
