Job summary

Nanyang Technological University’s Centre for Disruptive Photonic Technologies (CDPT) and the National Centre for Advanced Integrated Photonics (NCAIP) invite applications for a Research Fellow / Research Engineer. You will lead integration of SNSPDs with photonic circuits, scale fabrication and cryogenic testing, and help develop a commercially viable single-photon detection prototype.

Qualifications

• PhD in Physics, Optical/Photonic Engineering, Electronic or Semiconductor Engineering, Information Science or related fields.
• Experience in nanofabrication, cryogenic devices, or heterogeneous integration.
• Familiarity with single-photon detection and quantum technologies is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and integrate SNSPDs with photonic integrated circuits.
• Scale fabrication and cryogenic testing workflows with cryostats and optical setups.
• Characterize detector performance: efficiency, dark counts, timing jitter, yield.
• Develop packaging for cryogenic environments and document data and processes.
• Support labs operations, safety and compliance; contribute to reports and IP disclosures.
• Engage with venture creation programs and explore commercialization pathways.
