Job summary

Nanyang Technological University Singapore is seeking a Research Fellow to advance integrated SNSPD technologies for on-chip quantum photonics and sensing platforms. Qualifications

• PhD in Physics, Photonics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Nanotechnology, or related field.
• Strong research background in integrated photonics, nanophotonics, nanofabrication, or related areas.
• Proven publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
• Experience with cleanroom fabrication and materials/device characterization preferred.
• Familiarity with photonic waveguide platforms and detector integration technologies advantageous.
• Experience with SNSPDs, superconducting materials, cryogenic measurements, or cryogenic packaging will be an added advantage.
• Proficiency in programming and data analysis using Python, MATLAB, and photonic simulation tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills; able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research in integrated SNSPD detectors and readout technologies.
• Develop and experimentally validate waveguide-integrated SNSPD devices.
• Process integration, optical coupling optimization, and on-chip detection-efficiency measurement.
• Timing-jitter characterization and photon-number-resolving operation.
• Detector integration with quantum photonic circuits.
• Nanofabrication and process development for photonic/detector structures.
• Develop SNSPD integration in MWIR waveguides and detector platforms.
• Device fabrication/assembly, coupling to MWIR waveguides, and performance optimization.
• SNSPD detector arrays and readout architectures; multi-pixel arrays and multiplexing.
• Cryogenic electronics, biasing, amplification, thresholding, digitization for arrays.
• Support cryogenic packaging, fiber-array coupling, and low-noise readouts; publish results.
