Job summary

The National Centre for Advanced Integrated Photonics (NCAIP) at NTU Singapore is seeking a Research Fellow to advance integrated polaritonic devices and waveguides. You will design, fabricate, and test polaritonic circuits and contribute to on‑chip detection/readout architectures.

Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, you will develop and operate optical spectroscopy setups, measure propagation and nonlinear responses, and publish results while contributing IP statements.

Qualifications

• PhD in Physics, Photonics, Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
• Strong experimental optics/photonic spectroscopy background.
• Proven publication record in peer‑reviewed journals.
• Experience designing, aligning and operating advanced optical setups (lasers, microscopy, spectroscopy, imaging).
• Proficiency in Python or MATLAB.
• Strong analytical, communication and teamwork skills; able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Design, fabricate, optimize and characterize polaritonic waveguides, lasers, and circuit elements.
• Develop and operate optical spectroscopy setups; measure propagation, nonlinear response and coupling to readout platforms.
• Collaborate with researchers to deliver state‑of‑the‑art single‑photon imaging capabilities; publish results and contribute IP.
