Job summary

The National Parks Board (NParks) at Singapore's Botanic Gardens is seeking a detailed and proactive team member to complete a comprehensive tree survey across forested and non-forested areas. You will help document 3,000–4,000 remaining trees and manage on-site data for inventory systems, with extensive fieldwork in a tropical setting.

Working within the Plant Records Unit (PRU) of the Living Collections team, you will process GIS data in ArcGIS and ensure accuracy while meeting project

Qualifications

• Areas of study in Botany, Forestry, Environmental Science, GIS, or related field.
• Experience in botanical surveys, tree identification, and/or forestry work.
• Proficiency in GIS software, spatial data processing and botanical databases.
• Knowledge of tropical plant taxonomy preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in field data collection and database management.
• Proactive and well-organised with initiative in survey tasks and documentation.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with the PRU team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive tree surveys in forested and non-forested areas to document remaining approximately 3,000-4,000 trees.
• Acquire accurate on-site data for high diversity of species across the Gardens.
• Verify site survey results against the existing inventory system.
• Process GIS data in ArcGIS for uploading and integration into operation systems.
