is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to lead and oversee the activities of room attendants, house porters, and linen porters to keep guest rooms, corridors, fire exits, stairways, and service areas clean, orderly, and well-maintained on assigned floors/areas. The role includes daily status checks, staff allocation, coordinating with Maintenance and Reception, ensuring VIP room standards and timely guest service, and adherence to safety and energy efficiency

Responsibilities

• Supervise the allocation of work assignments to Room Attendants and Porters.
• Assign special duties to Room Attendants and House Porters on assigned floors.
• Check the computer system for updates on room status.
• Check and return an allocated number of guest rooms to the standard required by the hotel.
• Report to the Housekeeping office any rooms which do not require service or are Do Not Disturb or double locked, and log these on the handover.
• Liaise with Maintenance and Reception regarding all out of order rooms.
• Ensure soft furnishings and décor of rooms are maintained to standard.
• Oversee implementation of deep cleaning and replacement.
• Check daily arrivals, departures and VIP lists; ensure VIP rooms are cleaned and maintained; replenish VIP gifts as needed.
• Control and supervise the issue and recording of keys and bleeps to all departmental staff daily.
• Check adequate linen, cleaning materials and guest supplies are held; liaise with linen room and valet as required.
• Ensure public areas and back-of-house areas are clean.
• Assist in stock taking of housekeeping items when necessary.
• Monitor and control housekeeping procedures, including lost property, key control, security and emergency procedures for safety and guest satisfaction.
• Participate in weekly inspections to ensure facilities are maintained with preventative maintenance.
• Create and implement green policies to reduce waste and energy consumption.
• Report valuable lost property to security and log packages.
• Handle guest requests, queries and complaints with prompt action and follow-up.
• Assist fellow employees to perform related jobs as required.
• Carry out projects and assignments as directed by the Director of Housekeeping.
• Prepare timesheets, rosters, and holiday schedules; complete Purchase Orders as required.
• Undertake any special projects or tasks requested by department head or Hotel Management.
